Pillars 02 & 03 · Nutritional medicine
Food as medicine, grounded in science
As a Food Science Specialist, Faith helps you use everyday nutrition to calm inflammation, restore your gut, and build lasting vitality — with an optional, educational look at therapeutic and metabolic strategies for those who want to go deeper.
The root of so much
The inflammation–disease connection
Not all inflammation is harmful. Acute inflammation is protective — it's how you heal a wound or fight infection. The problem is chronic, low-grade inflammation: a smouldering fire that persists for years and is now understood to be a root driver of most modern disease, from cardiovascular disease and autoimmune conditions to depression, cancer, and accelerated ageing.
Its causes are cumulative — environmental toxins, food sensitivities, a leaky gut, hormone imbalances, chronic stress and cortisol, and a standard diet heavy in sugar, excess omega-6 and processed fats. The result is a flood of free radicals and oxidative stress. This is where antioxidant-rich, whole-food eating becomes genuinely powerful medicine.
Researchers increasingly describe ageing itself as a chronic, low-grade pro-inflammatory state. How we eat is one of our greatest levers over it.

Therapeutic & Metabolic Diet Strategies
An educational exploration of how targeted nutrition and fasting can shape the body's internal environment — offered strictly as adjunctive, supportive guidance.
The concept of metabolic nutrition
Different cells rely on different fuels — glucose, glutamine, lipids, ketones, BCAAs. The emerging field of metabolic nutrition explores how dietary strategies can influence these pathways, and how diet rotation may help avoid over-reliance on any single fuel source while supporting overall nutritional balance.
Fasting for cellular health
Intermittent and prolonged fasting are areas of active scientific interest — for insulin balance, cellular energy, autophagy (the body's cellular "clean-up"), and controlled, beneficial metabolic stress. We explore these gently, individually, and always in coordination with your medical team.
Protective, polyphenol-rich foods
Green tea, turmeric, ginger, pomegranate, berries, cruciferous sprouts, beets, garlic, medicinal mushrooms, flaxseed, walnuts and extra virgin olive oil are all studied for their protective properties. Choosing organic where possible helps reduce pesticide load and support natural detoxification.
